Finding Clancy a new home was the hardest thing I've had to do in rescue in a very long time. Clancy came out of the shelter in Sept 2007 and we fell in love with him immediately. He got along great with the other dogs and couldn't have been a sweeter love. But 2 months later he decided he was going to be the alpha male and attacked one of my other males. A friend took Clancy in temporarily until we could work things out here, and Clancy got along great with her dogs and played and played with her wire hair boy. But 2 months later, Clancy did the same thing, he started a fight with another male. Because we loved him so much we tried to figure out another way to work things out without having to give him up, but finally we decided it wasn't fair to Clancy and he should have a home of his own where he could be the only male. Although I never advertised Clancy for adoption, I knew the right application would come along and I'd know it when it did. As hard as it was to let him go, Clancy has found a wonderful home where he will always be loved and spoiled. He will always be missed and loved here and left with a piece of our hearts, but I know Clancy is in a better place for him where he will get lots of love, attention, and excerise. We love you, Clancy. Be happy.

Beautiful sweet Scooby lost his home when his family had to move into an apartment. Although Scooby didn't receive the best of care, it was the only home he'd ever known. After spending just a couple of weeks in a loving foster home, Scooby was adopted to his new forever home where he will receive lots of TLC and never be abandoned again. We are very happy for Scooby.

This little girl was 8 months old when she was given up by her owners. She was said to be nervous and skiddish and indeed she was when she arrived. But we got to spend a whole month with her here, watching her blossom, grow less afraid, less nervous and thoroughly enjoy being in a home playing joyfully with other dogs and curling up in someone's lap. She was a different dog when she left. Cookie whose name was changed to Kiwi now lives with 2 other doxies and is very happy in her wonderful loving new home. What a great little girl she is and we're glad we got to know her and enjoy her!

Roger's family lost their home and had to turn their sweet boy over to rescue. Roger (long hair dapple) found a new home where he is not only loved a bunch, but is serving as a companion for his new sister who had never been an only dog. She lost her life long companion and ended up with separation anxiety when left alone. But as soon as Roger arrived, she calmed down and became the same happy girl she used to be.
Roger found his new forever home that fits him perfectly. We miss you Roger and are glad you are happy again.

Stevie Wonder was found wandering in the streets and picked up by someone and taken to the shelter. I got him out of the shelter only to discover he was blind. Despite his vision impairment, Stevie was a wonderful dog, loving, housebroken and one of the best rescues ever. Surprisingly, Stevie's blindness didn't stop a very special family from wanting to make Stevie a part of their family. In less than 24 hours of Stevie being on the website up for adoption, Stevie was looking at a new forever home.
It takes a very special family to see the greatness in a very special dog. I wish you the best Stevie because you are the best.

Coco is a beautiful long hair 12 year old female whose owners turned her in to the kill shelter. Amazingly, there are wonderful people who really care about the seniors and want to make sure they live their latter years in a happy, loving home. So Coco is in the last home she'll ever know and will be loved and cared for forever.

Everyone loves a puppy so when puppies are advertised on the websites there are a lot of responses. But finding the right home for a puppy and knowing it will stay in that home forever is tougher than one might think. Juno had a really rough start in life but with God's help and wonderful people, she ended up in my rescue where I had the opportunity to find her the home that was best for her. Juno has 2 older sisters to play with and a family that will treasure her forever. She took away a piece of my heart and I wish her a long, healthy, happy life.

Eli was taken to the local kill shelter to be put to sleep. The family said he wouldn't walk or eat. He was sprung from the shelter by a rescue and when taken to the vet we found he needed 13 rotten teeth pulled. No wonder he wouldn't eat! He also has some arthritis in his shoulder but certainly has no problem walking. He turned out to be an absolute love.
When Charlotte from Tucson saw Eli on my website right before she was ready to retire, she knew he was the one she wanted to add to her family with her other dog Fritz.
Charlotte says Eli thought the trip to Tucson was a long one even from Palm Springs where we met her but the trip was worth it. Eli now sleeps in the big bed on one side of Charlotte while Fritz sleeps on the other. Charlotte says Eli couldn't be a more perfect doxie to add to her home. I guess one person's trash is another person's treasure. Lucky for Eli the request by his previous family to have him euthanized was not followed through and Eli is now loved in his new home.

Wilbur, on the right, was the product of a breeder who passed away leaving a lot of dogs in need of new homes. The dogs were not well cared for and many of them needed surgeries. Once they were cleaned up and groomed, they turned out to be wonderful dogs. Wilbur is now in his new forever home, no more breeding puppies with problems. He's a well loved boy, sharing the sun with his new buddy.

Curly was relinquished by a breeder when her days of making puppies and money were no longer worthwhile. She was adopted but went back to the rescue because the other dogs at the home picked on her. When I received an application from Marlene, I just knew Curly was the right match for her. Curly is finally in her forever home, no more making babies and no more moving around. Curly is full of personality and will keep her new mom entertained. We're happy you're happy Curly.
