HAPPY TAILS, AGAIN

Born in 2000, Sadie & Sweetie spent a good part of their early years in a rescue. Their beginning is unknown. In 2003 they came to my rescue where they were adopted by a very nice lady. But life changes caused her to be away from home for long periods and Sadie & Sweetie were lonely and sad. So Sadie & Sweetie came back to me and are now in a new wonderful home where they will get lots of TLC and hopefully never have to move again. Sadie and Sweetie

Bosco & New Daddy
Hurray for Bosco!! He got a great home. Bosco found himself up in the kill shelter but luckily for Bosco his number wasn't up yet. When Robert & Bosco met, it was love at first site for both. Bosco gave his new dad kisses. Bosco is now in a loving home of his own. Way to go Bosco. Thank you Robert.

Sandy Even though Sandy was adopted from the shelter in 2006, somehow she ended up back in the kill shelter in 2007. This very happy doxie mix girl has so much love and spirit, it's hard to believe anyone would send her back to the shelter. She didn't deserve that.

Sandy came into Dachshund Rescue and a few weeks later her picture and bio were seen by a couple who had just adopted a male doxie mix 3 months prior that looks very much like Sandy and who had a very similar story. So Sandy went to live with her new mom and dad and her new brother Calvin, where hopefully she will live out the rest of her life and never have to move again.

Checkers ended up in the local kill shelter. Because he had a micro chip the shelter was able to contact one of his original owners who said they would come get him in 2 or 3 days. But they never did. Lucky for me I was able to adopt Checkers out of the shelter and place him in a wonderful home where his new mom thinks he is perfect. Checkers' new name is Riley. I am so happy for Riley and his new wonderful life. Checkers, now Riley, and his new mom

Tootsie and her New Family
Poor tiny Tootsie had a rough first 5 years. She was forced to have pups and then dumped by her owners, only to be dumped by the next home she was placed in. Tootsie came into rescue and was a true delight - happy and silly and full of life. After her spay surgery and teeth cleaning, Tootsie went to her final home where she'll never lack loving arms to hold her. Have a great life Tootsie. We miss you.

      Rusty
Rusty is a sweet, loving, housebroken and well-trained boy who ended up in a kill shelter. Rusty went with me to a pet adoption event where lots of people fell in love with him. Rusty is now in his permanent loving home where they see all the good he has to offer.

Black Jack was founding running in the desert skinny and scared. Some kind people took him in and cared for him as long as they could but Black Jack was giving the cats a problem. They called Dachshund Rescue and now Black Jack has a new loving home where he will receive lots of love. BlackJack and Family

Willow and Mom
As beautiful as she is, this wonderful doxie ended up in the kill shelter. We gave her the temporary name of Penny until her new home renamed her. Her foster home called her Tawny and they fell in love with her. But when the application for her adoption was approved, she became Willow and went to her new home on February 8th. Her new mom and dad adore her and think she is the most perfect dog. Willow will spend the rest of her life pampered and loved. She deserves it.

      Katie and Dewey
Katie is on the left and her friend Dewey is on the right. Katie was adopted by a wonderful couple who adore her. Dewey was with her as a foster until he could find his forever home.
Katie went from the shelter to a wonderful loving home where her new mom and dad think she's the greatest.

This is Dewey, such a handsome boy. Dewey certainly had a rough time. When Dewey came out of the shelter his back had gone out and he couldn't walk. Thanks to a wonderful foster home who cared for Dewey for many weeks, Dewey was up and walking again and looking for his new forever home. Dewey went to another foster home who unfortunately didn't realize how fragile Dewey's back was and one trip down a flight of stairs and Dewey's back end was out again. So off Dewey went to another rescue for R&R and more crate rest. After several weeks Dewey was back up on his feet and on Valentine's day Dewey went to his new home with a physical therapist who will take good care of this big handsome boy. Good luck in your new home Dewey. You've been through a lot and you deserve the best! Dewey
